OPTIMAL RENDERING OF THE VARIETAL PROFILE FOR THE GEWURTZTRAMINER VARIETY

Avantis Estate in cooperation with the Professor of Oenology in the Agricultural University  Dr. Giorgos Kotseridis , has  initiated a research on the yeast of the Gewurtztraminer variety.

The aim of this detailed applied research and evaluation, is the selection of the most appropriate yeast strains for the optimal rendering of the typical characteristics of this variety, as it is expressed in the vineyards of our Estate in Euboea.

A series of micro-vinifications that took place in the Agricultural University from the 2015 vine harvest of the Gewürztraminer variety of the grapes of our vineyards, vaccinated with different strains of yeast, were aiming to the development of this variety in the vineyards of our Estate in Euboea.

The winetasting of the already vinificated wines was performed with the cooperation of the Wine Commanders, Mr. Yannis Karakassis MW and Mr. Gregory Michailos WSET Diploma, and the Professor of Oenology Dr. Giorgos  Kotseridis .
